Early in the spring of 2021, I had the opportunity to perform production sound mixing for CBS News Sunday Morning on a local wildlife project. The episode recently aired this September and features migrating whimbrels at a temporary stop on Deveaux Island, SC. It was a great experience seeing the work of different organizations like the SC Department of Natural Resources and Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Working around water, wind, and sand always presents some significant challenges for recording quality audio. Some of the location sound specialty products available came in handy.
